How Skinda works
- What does Skinda actually do?
- You take one selfie in natural light. Skinda’s AI reads up to twelve visible skin signals — things like skin type, oiliness, texture, pores, and the appearance of fine lines or uneven tone — and builds a structured Skin Profile. From that, it matches over-the- counter products to your skin and budget across an AM and PM routine.
- How accurate is the analysis?
- The analysis is a careful estimate of visible, cosmetic attributes, not a clinical measurement. Lighting, photo quality, and natural day-to-day changes all affect results, so your profile sharpens as you scan over time. It is informational and not a medical diagnosis.
- What kind of photo works best?
- A front-facing selfie in soft, even natural light, with a clean, makeup-free face and hair pulled back. Avoid harsh shadows and heavy filters — they change what the analysis sees.
Photos & privacy
- What happens to my face photos?
- Your photos are used only to analyze your skin. If you don’t save a scan, the image is processed and not kept. If you choose to save scans for progress tracking, they’re stored in your account, encrypted, until you delete them. We never sell your photos and never use them for advertising. - Can I delete my photos and data?
- Yes. You can delete an individual scan or your entire account and all associated photos at any time. On account deletion we remove your photos and Skin Profiles within 30 days, except where law requires us to keep limited records.
- Do you use my photos to train AI models?
- We do not use your face photos to train third-party advertising models, and we never sell them. Photos are processed only to produce your Skin Profile.
Is it medical?
- Is Skinda medical advice?
- No. Skinda is a cosmetic and informational tool, not a medical device, and does not diagnose or treat any condition. For a skin concern, always consult a licensed dermatologist. See our full disclaimer.
- Should I patch-test recommended products?
- Yes — always read labels and patch-test new products before full use, especially active ingredients. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, have allergies, or take medication, check with a professional first.
Plans & billing
- Is there a free plan?
- Yes. Free includes one scan a month, your first skin signals, and three product matches — no card required to begin. Pro and Premium open the full profile, unlimited scans, routines, progress, and expert guidance. Compare on the pricing page.
- How do I cancel? Will I be charged again?
- You can cancel anytime from your account page on web, or in your App Store / Google Play settings on mobile. Cancelling stops future renewals; your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
- How is payment handled?
- Web subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe; mobile in-app purchases go through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never store your full card number.
